    Entrepreneurs Center (TEC)

    The Entrepreneurs Center (TEC) provides incubation services and leased space for technology-oriented entrepreneurs in the Dayton Region. TEC provides value to its clients by assisting entrepreneurs to establish a functional structure around his/her business. Through our Know-How Network, team of advisors, mentoring, annual reviews and other services, TEC can help businesses to sharpen a plan that will maximize the probability of success.

    Fastlane – West Central MEP Center

    fastlane_logo FastLane for Growth Solutions, sponsored by the State of Ohio’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program, is the Greater Dayton Region’s answer for strengthening the Area’s long history of manufacturing excellence.  Led by the University of Dayton Research Institute, FastLane’s partners specialize in a vast array of technical manufacturing capabilities, and have solutions for manufacturers involved in virtually every field.  FastLane helps solve technical problems that prevent or hinder commercialization and growth, accelerates technology that improves capacity and new product launches, strengthens Ohio’s manufacturing supply base and fosters workforce development initiatives to attract and retain top talent.


    FirstLink helps the Department of Defense connect with private sector companies and entrepreneurs to advance technologies for our nation’s First Responders. As the nation’s first National Center of Excellence for First Responder Technologies, FirstLink’s services are provided through a partnership with the United States Department of Defense Office of Technology Transition and the United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).


    The Institute for Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology (IDCAST) provides the framework to bring together technologies, innovations and collaborations to develop and integrate advanced sensor technology in areas such as defense, homeland security and commercials applications.

    MilTech is an Office of Technology Transition Partnership Intermediary and provides hands-on product design, prototyping, technology scouting, and manufacturing assistance to transition innovative technology to the US warfighter rapidly, reliably, and cost-effectively. MilTech provides assistance to DoD customers that are transitioning innovative technology to deployed combat operations.

    National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

    The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is the nation’s premier source of geospatial intelligence. As a Department of Defense combat support agency and a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community, NGA provides imagery, geospatial and targeting analysis, along with image sciences and modeling for U.S. national defense, disaster relief and safety of navigation. NGA seeks to know the Earth, show the way, and understand the world.

    Practical Aeronautics

    Practical Aeronautics offers professional development and continuing education short courses in fundamental aeronautics and propulsion. Courses are taught by award-winning educators and highly experienced pilots to students from audiences across DoD, NASA, FAA and industry. Application of theory is emphasized, providing students the requisite aeronautics to appreciate the design tradeoffs inherent in any air vehicle.


    As a partner of the US Department of Defense, SpringBoard’s purposes at national, statewide, regional and local levels are to:

    • Develop partnerships that result in transfer, commercialization and transition of technologies developed by DoD laboratories and private industry; and
    • Support and facilitate K-16 educational programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

    STEM Center

    The Dayton Regional STEM Center (DRSC) coordinates an established network of regional institutions and professionals that provides rich opportunities for STEM education by training and supporting educators, designing curriculum aligned to the workforce needs, training school leaders at the district and building level, and supporting schools and program models committed to STEM teaching and learning.

    Dayton Regional STEM School

    One of 10 public STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) schools being created across Ohio, the Dayton Regional STEM School offers students a relevant, real world educational experience which will prepare them for college and opportunities in the work world — in essence, it’s a springboard for developing and maintaining the Dayton region’s talent base.


    The Center for Innovation established TechComm, a new federal Partnership Intermediary, in 2010. TechComm is an inter-agency coalition of U.S. federal agencies and their federal labs, working with and through the Center to (1) facilitate the transfer of federal patented technology to industries for commercial use and manufacturing; and (2) facilitate cooperative research between federal labs with both universities and industries.


    TechLink helps the Department of Defense to commercialize leading-edge new technology by partnering DoD labs with private sector companies for technology licensing, transfer, and research and development. These technology transfer partnerships solve industry problems, create business opportunities, and stimulate economic development while helping DoD to achieve its technology transfer and transition missions.
